Are you one of those people who vow to get in shape every New Year? You do all the right things: You write down your resolution to finally “get in shape.” You sign up for a gym. You make a food and workout plan. You visit the gym three to four times a week for the month of January. But, as soon as February 1 comes, you’re back to your old routine of no exercise.
How can you change this pattern?
For one, you must set realistic goals for yourself. It’s tough to go from not exercising, to exercising 3 to 4 times a week. Start slowly. Start off with 1 day, then gradually work your way up to 3 or more days.
Second, in order to get in shape and lose weight, you must also change your eating habits. I don’t call this a diet because that implies an ending. Gyms can help you with the amount of calories you should take in a day according to your sex, height and weight. (There are many free calorie calculators online as well. Use google.) Gradually change your eating habits as well. If you start to exercise and change how you eat all at one, you will quickly become overwhelmed.
And last, STAY MOTIVATED! If you want to change how you look and feel, you must stick to it!
